When an angled plug helps
A straight plug sticks out from the socket and puts strain on the cable when equipment sits close to a wall, inside a TV unit or behind a desk. An angled plug turns the cable through 90 degrees at the socket, so it lies flat and the latch is protected.
Up or down?
Look at which way the cable needs to run from the socket. An up to down lead has a plug angled each way, handy when the two sockets face opposite directions.
